  3. This program code, screen layouts and name are protected by 
  4. US and International copyright laws.  It is unlawful to sell
  5. distribute, or decompile this program without the written consent of
  6. TurboStats Software Company.

  19. How to install:
  20.  
  21. - run setup.exe (in the directory where you unzipped the files)
  22. - after setup is complete you can delete the files in the directory
  23.   where you unzipped winstats.zip (they end with "_"). You might 
  24.   want to copy these files to a floppy disk to give to your friends
  25.   to try.  ( 1 1.44 meg floppy is fine) you don't need to copy
  26.   the file winstats.zip. Just the files that were uncompressed.

  28. How to run:

  30. Double click on the TurboStats Icon the setup program created
  31. or double click on stats.exe in the File manager application
  32.  
  33. -Open the sample team to see how data is entered
  34. -Click on the <Help> button in the team form for a quick demo
  35. -Click on the <Games> button the enter the game form
  36. -Click on the lower rightmost icon to run a game form demo 
  37.  
  38. How to create league printouts:
  39.  
  40. -Create a team for each team in your league
  41. -After entering game data for each team use the command
  42.  Compile Stats > Create a league disk  (in the Game Form)
  43. -Repeat for each team
  44. -In the Stat Viewer use the command <File><Merge>
  45. -Select each team .lea file from the directory until all teams are merged
  46. -Sort on any stat and use the <File><Leader Report> options
  47.  
  48. How to create Team Records:
  49. -Use the league example above at the end of each season year
  50. -Merge the stats into one report and save it as "records.sts"
  51. -Each year open records.sts and merge in your latest team
  52.  
  53. Troubleshooting question
  54.  
  55. 1: Depending on which version you have downloaded you may need a
  56. copy of vbrun300.dll in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory in order
  57. to install and run TurboStats.
  58.  
  59. 2: Can't copy THREED.VBX: If the install program cannot update the vbx files in your system
  60. directory because you currently have older versions of these files
  61. in your system directory. Simply delete or rename the file
  62. that the setup program complains about. example: error "cannot copy threed.vbx"
  63. fix: rename threed.vbx in your system directory to threed.old and run
  64. install again
  65.  
  66. 3: Some older graphics driver may crash the program when you enter the
  67. game form or during drag n drop field layout. Solution: get the updated 
  68. graphics drivers from your graphics vendor or use the standard vga or 
  69. super vga drivers included on your system.  This is not a software bug!
  70.  
  71. 4: Printing in landscape mode:
  72. Problem: some printer drivers do not change to landscape even after you
  73. select the landscape option thru the print option in TurboStats.
  74. Solution: This is a printer driver bug.  Exit out of TurboStats completely
  75. and then change your printer to landscape thru the control panel.  Restart
  76. TurboStats and it should print fine.
  77.  
  78. 5. Out of memory: If you get an out of memory message while running TurboStats
  79. you should do the following. 1. make sure all other Windows application are 
  80. closed while running TurboStats ( check your system resource usage in the program
  81. manager using "Help""About program manger").  2. Avoid using the game form and
  82. stat viewer concurrently. 3. Make sure you are running Windows in enhanced mode.
